As your clinical psychologist, with over 30 years experience, I am committed to creating an environment where you feel safe and understood. I will assist you in addressing and exploring the challenging issues that have kept you from living the life you would prefer. Originally from SoCal, I have lived in Athens for a total of ten years, have two adult children, and have worked extensively with college students, at both UGA and CSUN. Although it needs to be challenging at times, my goal is to make therapy a very positive, fun, and productive experience for you. I work together with you, utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques, with an emphasis on solution-based therapy. Having spent almost nine years post-grad (3.5 years Masters, 5 years Doctorate), I personally know the challenges of being a student. I personalize my approach to be the one that is most effective for " you." We will work to find healthy changes that are important in assisting you to be happier, less anxious or depressed, and more fulfilled.

I strive to provide a safe space to work through emotions and find effective ways to manage them. I help people process past experiences and current reactions that affect the decisions we make in order to promote healthy change and understanding of ourselves and our patterns. Oftentimes, we are not aware of the underlying things that influence our gut reactions which can create a barrier to us meeting the goals we set for ourselves. Counseling is a way to help you understand yourself better and to break down those barriers that stop you from moving forward. I have a wide range of experience in helping people navigate identity, trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. I like to really meet people where they are at in their therapy goals, get to know where you want to be, and help you develop skills and tools that will help you meet those goals. I am big on self-compassion and building confidence that can create success.
Two decades ago, I sat where you are now—uncertain but hopeful. Today, as a licensed therapist in Georgia, I use both my personal and professional experience to help you navigate your way forward. In fact, I still see the professional who first helped me start my journey—a testament to my belief in the power of having someone in your corner. If you are curious, I encourage you to take a chance on yourself. There is no commitment—you are entirely in the driver’s seat—just a safe space to see what is possible. I built my practice to be a soft landing spot for women and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics. If this sounds like you, you are in the right place. Over the past decade of working one-on-one with clients, I have developed signature healing groups—such as Transcending Trauma, Just Between Us Girls, and Adulting After Dysfunky—because I deeply believe that we heal the same way we are hurt: in relationship. Beyond our sessions, I am committed to your growth. I actively maintain an extensive, curated resource network of books, podcasts, articles, clinical handouts, and trusted specialists who uniquely understand the needs of trauma survivors. You don't have to do it "right." You just have to show up. Hi! I am Kaye Davis and I am a Licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. I have years of experience working with men and women who are at a point in their life where they desire to make changes in their routine, career, or attend school, and trying to balance the roles they have as a human being living in the world today. I believe all my clients are the experts on their own life, and I am here to just provide feedback, active listening and allow each of them a chance to be creative as we all attempt to navigate this thing called life. I have years of experience as a collegiate basketball coach and also former athlete, and also a crisis counselor for those adults with severe an persistent mental illness. I have a different quirky style of therapy, but at the end of the day, my number one goal is to provide you the ability to talk and explore areas that are strengths but also while looking at growth opportunities. I would also encourage you to find YOUR fit for therapist. Not every therapist is the right fit initially. I believe thru open honest communication things can be worked out where we can find a therapist will work that will be a connection that is helpful and meaningful. How about you take the step for yourself and find relief and watch your dreams become reality.
I enjoy working with students who find themselves looking for help with anxiety, OCD, stress, and feelings of burnout. A lot of my clients identify with being high-achieving and introverted. From my own experience in college and working with college students for the last 10 years, I know school can be both fun and exciting, but also overwhelming and stressful. Please don't hesitate to reach out (via phone or email) to see if you'd like to work with me - I always start with a free 20 minute consultation call to get to know potential clients.

Many of the clients I work best with are people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of the next step in life. They may be dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, faith questions, or changes that feel difficult to manage on their own. Often, they’re looking for a safe place where they can talk openly, sort through their thoughts, and begin to rebuild confidence and peace. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place. My practice is built on creating a calm, supportive space where you can feel understood, respected, and encouraged. Together, we’ll explore what you’re facing, uncover what you need, and work toward real, practical change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I primarily work with ages 6-25. I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help Children (6-12) Teens (13-17) Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) Adult Couples What I Can Help With Relationship issues or losing a relationship Adjusting to and navigating life transitions Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors Feeling sad or depressed Trauma and loss Feeling overwhelmed or anxious Feeling alone or disconnected from others Experiencing stress at work, school, or home Conflict resolution Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Person-Centered Therapy Narrative Therapy Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). This is a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Types of Sessions Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. For this reason, the first session serves to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake is also an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent's progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child's therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: Aetna Cigna/Evernorth United Healthcare/UBH/Optum Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? Does life feel like a constant uphill battle? You’re doing your best to keep up—with your partner, family, or school—but it’s exhausting. You might feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just... stuck. And while life comes with responsibilities, it isn’t meant to be lived in survival mode. You deserve support, understanding, and a space where you can breathe. You deserve to feel joy again. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, build emotional strength, and rediscover what joy feels like. With the right support, you can navigate life’s challenges with more confidence, clarity, and resilience. You're not alone—and you don’t have to do this alone. Whatever you're going through, we’ll work together to find what works, let go of what doesn’t, and help you move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy. You're not alone—and you don’t have to do this alone. Whatever you're going through, we’ll work together to find what works, let go of what doesn’t, and help you move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life. Life gets busy—and heavy. Between school, family, and everything in between, it’s easy to feel stretched thin. That’s why I offer secure online therapy that fits your life. No commute, no time off work or school—just real support, on your terms. Life is complicated enough, therapy doesn't have to be.
Hi! I’m currently accepting new clients and referrals for teens and adults (13+) who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, life stress… or just that constant feeling of “wow, this is a lot.” If you’ve ever asked yourself, “why am I like this?” while overthinking a text for 45 minutes, replaying conversations like a highlight reel, or ending up in the same situation with different people—yeah, you’re in the right place. And if childhood experiences are still popping up in your adult life like an uninvited guest who refuses to leave… that’s more common than you think. Therapy with me is a real, no-judgment space where we can unpack what’s going on, connect the dots, and actually start shifting patterns—not just analyzing them at 2 a.m. There’s room for honesty, growth, and some humor along the way (because sometimes your brain really does wake up and choose chaos for no reason). My style is laid-back, supportive, and direct. I take a person-centered approach, so we go at your pace—whether you’re thriving, surviving, or somewhere in between. Whether it’s overthinking, relationship stress, family dynamics, or trying to figure out who you are and what you want (no small task), we’ll work together to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. No pressure. No perfection. Just a space where you can show up as you are. Insurance & Payment Options • Self-pay • Blue Cross Blue Shield • Aetna • United Healthcare / Optum
Do you often find yourself questioning your worth or feeling like you're not enough? Are you struggling with comparison and want to finally feel comfortable in your own skin? Maybe you're wanting to heal your relationship with food and accept your body. I've been there, and you don't have to continue feeling this way. My specialty is helping teen girls and women in the areas of anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism, people pleasing, and eating disorders. I am certain that you can be equipped with the tools you need to meet your goals, learn to be kinder to yourself, build confidence, and begin to thrive in this season of your life. It is a great passion of mine to provide a safe, genuine, and welcoming space for my clients. I will meet you exactly where you are, so that you can grow and heal in the way that makes the most sense for you. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, so we will collaborate to determine which approaches and techniques are best for your needs. My style is warm and caring, and my goal is for you to feel free to be yourself in therapy- maybe even laugh along the way! You deserve to feel calm, empowered, and in control of your life. I'm so glad you're here. If you are ready to start feeling better and take your power back, send me a message. It would be an honor to partner with you on your journey!
“Baby steps” + “you gotta feel it to heal it” are two truths that guide my work as a therapist. I believe healing unfolds when we move at a pace that honors your body, your story, and your inner knowing. I show up with care, curiosity, and a liberatory-focused, neurodivergent-affirming lens to support your growth, self-trust, and embodied healing. As a 1.5-generation, neuroqueer, Afro-Latina AuDHDer, I understand the complexities of moving through a world not designed to hold all of who you are. I offer space for PoGM, QT2BIPOC, immigrant, 2SLGBTGEQIAP+, and neurodivergent (Autistic, ADHD, OCD, CPTSD, etc.) adults to explore, reclaim, and come home to themselves.
Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.
I have been successful in helping people make positive changes in their lives. I welcome you to join me in beginning to address the issues that lead to you seeking assistance. I truly look forward to helping you achieve your therapeutic and/or life goals. I have been a National Board Certified Counselor(NCC) since 2000, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC in FL) since 2002, and a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC in GA) since 2021. I help people who are dealing with depressive symptoms; anxiety; mood swings; life stressors/stress management; anger management; frustration tolerance; coping, & social skills; adjustment issues; relationship issues; grief/loss issues; mindfulness; and life enhancement; amongst others. I attempt to facilitate positive change by assisting people in identifying the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping them stuck(and/or preventing them from moving forward) in order to overcome struggles/obstacles and work towards reaching their full potential.
