Hi there! Thanks for taking some time to read more about me and my work. As a therapist, I have a huge passion for helping young adults struggling with questions such as "Who am I?" "Where do my feelings come from?" and "What do I do from here?". I spend many hours with clients diving deeper into these questions, and helping clients with issues surrounding anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and identity. I look forward to answering any questions you may have, and potentially working with you in the future!
My approach to therapy comes from a space of empathy, compassion, and absolutely zero judgement. My goal for every individual is to help them experience a positive change. I utilize a strengths based approach to encourage my clients to tap into their own strengths and resources while also meeting them where they are at in their personal therapeutic journey. I became interested in therapy due to my own personal struggles with addiction and with 11 years of sobriety, I hope to help others. My goal is for my clients to get something out of the work we do together and for it to be worthwhile and beneficial for them. I work alongside my clients to help them reach their goals while appreciating and celebrating their strengths. I have a laid back approach which includes colorful language, an odd sense of humor, and finding a balance to push you outside of your comfort zone to accomplish your goals. I hope to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and for me to help them process life's tough challenges and celebrate the victories.
You feel like you want things to be different going forward, but you're not sure how to make that happen. You feel a mix of emotions - sadness, anxiety, anger, fear and maybe hopelessness. When you are tired of hearing other people's expectations of you or feeling pressure from all the expected areas of your life, you are not feeling your best. Sometimes those “others” are parents or family. It feels like you are drowning or maybe you want to give-up. You feel like no one understands you and maybe you feel like you don’t even understand yourself right now. You dream of the day you will feel comfortable and confident in yourself no matter what others say or think of you. You want to live in a new changed way, feel energy, and be your best self with tools to cope with all that comes your way. I believe therapy sessions sometimes need to feel calm like lavender and at other times as energetic as neon. Let’s chat about what you’re wanting next, check out Neon Lavender Therapy and Wellness and email, text, or call today to set-up your in-person or virtual session.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Stephanie, a licensed mental health therapist and owner of Inner Emotions Counseling, LLC. I started my practice in 2021 and am currently working with clients up to age 25. My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, substance use and family/relationship issues. I strive to meet clients where they’re at using a solution-focused therapeutic style. I often turn to using cognitive behavioral therapy as well which helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. No problem is too big to overcome and I’ll be with you every step of the way in your journey. I graduated with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2020 and also have a Masters in Addictions Counseling from there as well. I completed this degree in 2021. I realized I wanted to be a therapist after teaching for a year in Indianapolis Public Schools. I earned my Bachelors degree from Butler University in 2015 and played collegiate soccer while doing so. My current hobbies include playing indoor soccer, being outside, spending time with my pets, reading and traveling. I’d love to help you overcome your presenting problems and help you move forward in life. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you think I’d be a good fit in your journey!
My clinical experience includes supporting people through life’s most challenging moments, including adjustment, caregiving, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and major transitions. As a bilingual and bicultural counselor fluent in English and Spanish, I strive to create a welcoming space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
I see individuals working through transitional issues (university, relational, stage of life), common mental health issues (anxiety, depression, ADHD), and trauma (adverse childhood events, sexual/psychological/physical abuse, etc). Individuals I work with often are seeking therapy to feel more like themselves, relieve symptoms of mental health, and enjoy their day-to-day lives more. I find we are often a good fit when looking at therapy as an opportunity to connect, process, & grow. You feel anxious and it’s hard to shut your brain off. People tell you to relax, but it’s not that easy for you. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, but it’s hard to sit back and enjoy it. Your standards for yourself feel too high, and you question how long you can keep this up. You tend to doubt yourself and your abilities and look to other people to reassure you. It’s hard to take up space, feel confident, and speak your truth. You want to feel present in your life and like you’re able to love and appreciate yourself just as you are. You want to feel confident, courageous, and like you are able to advocate for yourself. You want to feel happy, calm, and at peace with your life, your relationships, and your career. I specialize in working with young adults with anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism to build self-confidence and live a life they love. A better future is possible, and I'm here to help you create it. I can’t wait to hear from you, send me an email or call me to schedule a free phone consultation.

My first priority is that you feel SAFE in this space. We won't dive into the deep end on day one. Instead, we’ll go at your pace, focusing on building a space where you feel safe enough to exhale first. My goal isn’t to 'fix' you (because I don't believe that you are broken), but to partner with you in figuring out what’s getting in the way of the life you want. I specialize in working with people who are skeptical of the therapy process, nervous about opening up, or people who haven't had the best experiences in the past with treatment and maybe think therapy isn't for them. Additionally, most of my clients come to me with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, depression and addiction. Kix is a therapy dog who joins me at work every day too and would be happy to join you in session! But don't worry - he can also take a nap during your session if you prefer.
