Welcome! College years can be challenging, but should also be a fun and exciting time of growth and adventure. If you are overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, down, stressed-out, lost, or alone, pursuing therapy is one of the best choices you can make. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with almost 25 years of experience in the mental health field. My specialty and passion is helping people reclaim their lives from anxiety. I also work daily with a range of other mental health struggles and life challenges, including grief and loss, trauma, ADHD, depression, academic stress, substance use, and relationships. If you are wondering whether now is the right time for therapy, the answer is probably “yes.” You start to feel different when you do things differently. I can offer you a non-judgmental, creative space with fresh ideas and hope for your future. You can show up just as you are and I will listen whole-heartedly to your story. We will work together to change old habits, find new ways of thinking, confront your fears, learn powerful skills, build meaningful connections, and take action. If you are seeking an experienced therapist with a warm, relaxed style, you will likely feel at ease with me.

There are times when life brings us challenges and presents us with unexpected or difficult situations. We may not always feel in control over the events in our lives. Stress, anger, fear, anxiety, sadness can often become overwhelming. We may not know which way to turn for support or understand how to bring about the positive changes we’d like to see happen. Change is possible. You have taken the most important first step--reaching out--and I am here to work with you, making your goals realities. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with over twenty years of experience working with individuals and families. My approach to counseling is non-judgmental, integrative, and collaborative. I work with you so that, together, we can meet your goals. Expressive Therapy is an important approach I use in therapy and it involves engaging in activities like drawing, storytelling, music, writing as part of the process towards a deeper understanding. It provides the means for us to explore and share authentically who we are, our pain, our joy, and to welcome the support of others on our journey.

Therapy serves as an opportunity to be curious – to explore the patterns and narratives we carry, repeat, and, at times, feel bound by. Through gentle curiosity, we create space for healing and give ourselves the opportunity to blossom into more authentic versions of ourselves. My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment theories. With compassion and warmth, I listen closely to the unique story of your life, honoring the experiences that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others. Together, we will untangle these experiences and cultivate hope that life can improve in ways that feel deeply meaningful. I offer individual psychotherapy to adults and older adults with a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement, trauma, relational difficulties, and identity exploration. Importantly, I strive to remain mindful of the nuanced ways our identities shape our experiences and influence how we move through the world. I have specialized training in geropsychology and am passionate about helping adults navigate the complexities of aging, later-in-life transitions, caregiving, existential concerns, and ageism. My experience also includes working in college counseling centers, memory disorder clinics, community mental health, and with veterans.

My goal as a clinician is to help you feel free. In treatment, I will invite you to bring your whole self into the room, as you are. Together, we will work to identify the ways in which you feel stuck and shift unhealthy patterns that keep you from moving forward. There is no need to "have it all figured out." All I ask is that you remain open and curious to the known and unknown parts of yourself. It is my hope that through our work together, you will begin to better know who you are, identify what you want, and live a richer, more meaningful life.

We go through life trying to figure out who we are and whether we can be accepted by family, co-workers, and friends. You learned strategies to show or hide certain parts of yourself to survive after experiencing hurt or rejection, pretending to be "okay" when others ask you how you are feeling to not burden them, but numb on the inside with anxiety or loneliness. Despite the desire to break out of the shell and be happy, life continues to be hard, especially when you look to others and seeing them being happy. And that is why you come to therapy: Because you want life to be meaningful and fulfilling! Therapy will not be simply talking, but a space where we will explore and mend parts of yourself that you love and parts that you avoid. The process may be challenging as I help you rediscover the things you have "swept under the rug" through questions and emotions, but also rewarding as you hopefully come to see yourself in a new light. I will provide a space for you to be you, whoever that may be so that you can look in the mirror and see yourself as deserving of love and happiness. Gamer? Great! Kinks? Awesome! Anime? That's my jam, too! If you are ready to take that courageous step again, please contact me for a 15-minute consultation on what you want in therapy and next steps.

Therapy is about seeking balance and asking questions and looking for answers. Finding a balance between what we feel and what we know and a balance between the quicker emotional side of our mind and the more considered rational side are part of the process. Whether the questions are around school, interpersonal relationships, substance abuse, or career and motivation the answers will come only with this balance. My approach to therapy is about solving problems based on a relational and collaborative approach offering a supportive and sympathetic ear balanced with reality and solutions. With nearly 25 years of experience in the field I bring a diverse background giving me strong clinical skills in the areas of substance abuse, depression, anxiety, career and family issues. Life is a series of experiments, some good some not so good. Therapy is a way to sort out the good from the bad and, giving yourself credit for what you know and can do and putting it to work for a better tomorrow I invite you to give me a call at 617-524-1220 To protect your privacy my phone is a confidential landline which does NOT accept text messages

Off-Campus Clinicians is a group of highly trained doctoral-level psychologists who work closely with college and graduate students across Massachusetts (in-person sessions available in Cambridge, Watertown) and NYS (Telehealth only). We love our work, and we love working with students. We believe that real progress starts with an honest, trusting relationship, a space where you can speak openly, think out loud, and feel understood without being judged. Students often tell us they value our reliability and consistency. We show up, we stay engaged, and we bring a lot of experience working with young adults navigating the pressure, uncertainty, and growth that come with this stage of life - academically, emotionally, and relationally. We tend to work especially well with students who are thoughtful about themselves and curious about their own minds, people who want more than quick advice and are motivated to understand both what’s going on beneath the surface and how to take the needed accountability that helps life go in better, more desirable directions. If you’re looking for serious, supportive conversation with someone trained to help you make sense of your experience, please contact us.
