I have a special interest working with young adults struggling with body image issues, life stage transitions, trauma, relationships, and anxiety. I use an eclectic approach that is client centered.I show up as a human first and believe that in order to create a space in which my clients feel safe showing up as their authentic selves, I need to first show up as my authentic self. My style is conversational and informal. I seek to help the client get a better understanding of themselves and meet their inner selves with compassion and non-judgement.
Life can be hard! But this is where hope happens. Please contact me if you are interested in my services, or if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you, and rebuilding hope together!
I provide individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. I work best with students and young adults who are motivated to make changes and have specific goals they want to achieve. My approach combines practical strategies, like cognitive behavioral techniques, with a relational, supportive style. I also offer guidance on managing stress, relationships, and life transitions. I have extensive experience in mental health, including depression, anxiety, behavior challenges, grief, and chronic illness, and I enjoy helping young adults navigate challenges while building skills for long-term success. I speak both Spanish and French and can provide culturally sensitive care in those languages.
It's easy to get lost in our own minds. It's common to feel conflict and tension within ourselves as we navigate life's ups, downs and variety of curveballs. So many of us end up saying "A part of me feels.... and yet another part of me feels the complete opposite!". I'm passionate about working with folks who need a little time and space to sort things out. Whether it's anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship turmoil, uncertainty on identity or goals....we can face life's twists and turns together. I'm here to lend an ear and a helping hand. I'm passionate about therapy approaches and tools that are shown to help. Educating my clients and empowering them to take nuggets of awareness or action from each session into life is top of mind for me when we meet. I have years of experience helping folks sort through the burdens of anxiety, depression, emotion regulation struggles, relationship patterns, and OCD. It's always my top priority to work as a team - two humans sitting down in a sacred space to unravel the knots of uncertainty, discover your inner strengths and craft new approaches that can open up the road ahead. This too shall pass.

The individuals I help on a daily basis experience anxiety, depression, nightmares, issues with controlling their substance use, and difficulties building and maintaining meaningful relationships. The majority of the individuals I work with have experienced physical, verbal, or sexual abuse, neglect, and/or have gone through adversities and overwhelming experiences that have left a lasting impact on them. Events affect us all differently, if you feel like you are exhausted with trying to manage uncomfortable feelings alone, reach out and we can have a conversation about how our work may be able to give you the relief you have been hoping for. I look forward to hearing from you!
I began my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) later in life, and I have great passion for the work I do with my clients. I have 8 years of experience as a therapist for children/teens, adults, and families. I have worked in out-patient, school-based, in-home, and community settings. For individual and family therapy, I use a client-based, relational approach that focuses on positive communication, mutual respect, and active listening skills. I enjoy collaborating with clients on goals. I have a strong background in trauma and in providing services for at-risk teens and young adults. I offer counseling for mood and personality disorders, grief and loss, separation/divorce and family issues, as well as for medically based diagnoses, such as ADHD, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and cancer. My style is person-centered and eclectic, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions. I also enjoy providing group therapy for children, teens, and adults, and I believe that each group is an opportunity for growth, connection, and validation.

I am passionate about working with adults, couples, and families who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, and life transitions. I am also dedicated to assisting immigrants and international students in navigating adjustments to American culture. My approach is integrative, engaging individuals to learn adaptive coping strategies and embrace the best version of themselves. I am trained in evidence-based approaches such as CBT and DBT. I will help you explore how thoughts impact emotions and behaviors, challenge negative self-talk, and cultivate skills such as emotion regulation. Reaching out for help can feel intimidating. I aim to foster a warm and non-judgmental atmosphere for you to freely share. I would be honored to help you navigate in the direction of your values and goals.
Dr. Michele Slabaugh, DBH, MA, LPC-MHSP-S, NCC believes in using a combination of approaches to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Let’s be real. Life is hard. It is messy and crazy and sometimes, it just feels out of control. Your space is a mess, your roommates are on your last nerve, you have a major assignment to work on, and you just cannot get a moment to think straight. Then there’s that thought in the background that you’re not doing enough, that you’re not enough. You’re questioning yourself and feeling overwhelmed. College is hard. This phase of life is hard. Feeling the pressure to succeed can feel unbearable. This is where therapy comes in. To learn how to address these thoughts & emotions in a safe space and develop a plan of action to move forward, feeling confident in yourself.
