Many of the students I work with are dealing with anxiety, stress, sadness, imposter syndrome, or self-doubt. Some are managing heavy academic loads while also worrying about their future. Others are trying to balance school with family expectations, friendships, and romantic relationships. Many feel like they’re supposed to "have it all together" but deep down feel lost, stuck, or just exhausted from trying so hard. In our work together, we focus on giving you a place where you don’t have to perform or pretend. Therapy is a place where you can be honest about what’s hard, get support in making sense of it, and start finding ways to feel more grounded, more confident, and more in charge of your own life — without the pressure to be perfect.
You deserve to live a life with filled with connection, stability, and calm. Right now, you may feel lost or wonder what you can do to feel better, to thrive. With the right support and guidance, positive change is possible. My practice focuses on helping individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges and life transitions. I rely on evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, motivational interviewing and the Gottman Method. Currently, I am on the certification track to become a Gottman certified therapist. My goal in our work together, is to provide a supportive environment where you can address conflict, set boundaries, build resilience, and develop skills needed to establish and maintain a fulfilling life.
At Sunrise Counseling, we understand that people need solutions that work in real life. Many of our clients come to us feeling lost, challenged, or overwhelmed—but through compassionate support and practical strategies, they find the courage to build new skills and feel more confident about themselves and their lives. Since 1990, our practice has been dedicated to helping children, adolescents, college students, women, and families take control of their lives so they can grow, heal, and thrive. Our team of therapists uses a flexible, individualized approach to meet each client’s needs. Sometimes this looks like traditional talk therapy, play therapy, or family therapy; other times it might include Telehealth video sessions for added convenience. We also integrate specialized techniques such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused strategies, and Play Therapy to help clients reach their goals. In addition to individual and family counseling, Sunrise Counseling offers group opportunities, including supportive groups for women and teens. These spaces allow clients to connect with others, share experiences, and learn new tools in a supportive environment. At Sunrise Counseling, we believe therapy should not only bring relief in difficult moments but also empower clients with lasting skills to feel good about themselves and their relationships. Together, we help individuals and families find clarity, resilience, and hope for the future.
As a neurdivergent therapist with ADHD, I understand feeling a little different—creative, scattered, sensitive, or like you don’t quite fit into the usual boxes. I want to help you to feel more grounded, to understand yourself better, & to move through life with more ease and confidence. In therapy, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s been overwhelming you, reconnect with your strengths, & create space for balance, meaning, and self-acceptance in your daily life. In our sessions, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and collaboration. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation.
I graduated from The University of Georgia in 2011 with my masters in counseling; I worked as a staff therapist, suicide prevention coordinator, and disability services coordinator at Georgia Southern University and East Georgia State College respectively before going into private practice. I'm passionate about helping college students as they juggle demands and make major relationship and career decisions - it is a unique and overwhelming stage of life. I'm located near Charleston where I'm offering sessions via telehealth to GA & SC residents. Counseling can help improve communication between loved ones, support individuals adjusting to major life transitions, or develop coping skills to better manage emotions that have become distressing. I'm grateful you had the courage to explore counseling. Life is stressful at times and we can all use a safe place to receive support and feedback. It is my belief that each person has inherent value, and my goal is to encourage individuals to see their worth and facilitate them in making decisions they can reflect on with peace.
College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Many of the students I work with are trying to figure out their career path while also managing stress, anxiety, or feeling down. You might be questioning your major, worrying about the future, struggling with social anxiety, or feeling pressure to keep everything together while balancing school and life. I work best with college students who want a supportive place to talk through what they’re experiencing and learn practical ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty about their next steps. Together, we focus on helping you feel more confident in your choices, manage difficult emotions, and build skills that make college—and life beyond it—feel more manageable.
College is supposed to be “the best years of your life,” right? So why does it sometimes feel like you’re stressed, overwhelmed, questioning everything, and running on caffeine and vibes? I work with college students and young adults who are trying to hold it all together — classes, relationships, family expectations, future plans — while quietly wondering, “Why does this feel so hard?” Anxiety, mood swings, burnout, breakups, identity questions, substance use, grief, big transitions… it’s a lot. And most people try to power through it way longer than they need to. You don’t have to have some perfectly organized explanation for why you’re struggling. If you’re overwhelmed, stuck, unmotivated, or just not feeling like yourself lately, that’s enough. You don’t need a five-point plan before reaching out. Therapy with me is grounded, supportive, and real. We’ll talk like actual humans. We’ll slow things down. We’ll figure out what’s going on underneath the stress without judgment or pressure to “fix” everything overnight. We move at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you. My goal is to help you feel more comfortable in your own head and body — so you can make decisions with clarity instead of panic, respond instead of react, and maybe even sleep a little better. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through this chapter. Support counts.
Hey there—I’m Jasmine, a licensed therapist who helps college students and young adults find their footing in the chaos of adulthood. Think of me as your go-to for navigating stress, self-doubt, career pressure, and the never-ending “What am I doing with my life?” spiral. Whether you're battling burnout from school, adjusting to post-grad reality, or just trying to make sense of your relationships and identity, I’m here with zero judgment and maximum support. Therapy with me is real talk, useful strategies, and occasional memes—because healing doesn’t have to be stiff and serious 24/7. So bring your overthinking, your mid-semester blues, your job search anxiety. Together, we’ll figure it out.

After receiving invaluable warmth & empathy during my own experience of therapy I felt obliged to give others the same compassion. I use my training as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, Registered Yoga Teacher, & EMDR Therapist along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to facilitate the healing of wounds inflicted by both acute and complex trauma. I use an eclectic & collaborative approach rooted in attachment theory along with IFS-informed parts work to assist people struggling with issues from anxiety & PTSD to Bipolar Disorder & neurodivergence with the goal of shifting a client's perspective from one of survival to one of well being. When not cultivating my therapy practice I enjoy gardening, yoga, playing with my dog Walter, music, movies, horses, & laughing.
